AYATOLLAH ABUL QASIM AL KHOI
254. While performing ablutions it is obligatory for man to
wash his face and hands once and it is recommended to wash them twice. Washing
them three or more times is, however, unlawful. As regards the fact as to which
washing should be treated to be the first, the second or the third one, it
depends on the intention of the person performing ablutions. Hence, there is no
harm in it if he pours water on his face ten times with the intention of the
first washing and this action of his will be treated to be the first washing.
However, if he pours water on his face thrice with the intention of washing it
three times, his washing the face for the third time will be an unlawful act.
AYATOLLAH SYED ALI SISTAANI
254. * While performing Wudhu, it is obligatory to wash the
face and the hands once, and it is recommended to wash them twice. Washing them
three or more times is haraam. As regards to which washing should be treated as
the first, it will depend upon washing the face and hand thoroughly, leaving no
room for precaution, with the niyyat of Wudhu. So, if he pours water on his
face ten times with the intention of the first washing, there is no harm, but
when he will then wash with the niyyat of Wudhu, it wi ll be called the first
time. Thus, he can go on pouring water on his face several times, and in the
final wash, make the niyyat of Wudhu. But if he follows this procedure, then the
face and the hands should be washed once only, as an obligatory precaution.
AYATOLLAH SYED MOHAMMED RAZA MOOSVI
GULPAYEGAN
254. In Wazoo it is obligatory to wash the face and hands
one time, and it is recommeded to wash second time Washing them three or more
times is haraam. It depends upon doer of the wazoo to know it is first time or
second or third , therefore for example
a person pours water on his face ten times with the intention of the first
washing, there is no harm, and it will be counted as his first time, but if he
washes his face three times by making niyyat of Wazoo then the third time
will be Haram.
IMAM KHOMEINI
248 In Wudhu, it is obligatory to wash the face and the
hands for the first time, and it is recommended to wash them for the second
time. Washing them three or more times is haraam. and if one handful of water
is poured on the parts with the intention of doing the wadhu it will counted as
one time. whether you intend it for the first time or not,
TRADITION OF THE INFALLIBLES AS
1.
Imam Jaffer Sadiq AS said By God the Wazoo of Prophet SW was one one time and
Prophet SW used to wash face and hands one one time and this is the Wazoo
without which Allah will not accept Namaz. But those Hadiths in which it is
narrated that wazoo is two two times (washing of face and hands), these are
unauthentic traditions. It is narrated by Abu Jaffer Ahwal and it has been
narrated by a person who narrated this to Imam Jaffer Sadiq AS that the Imam AS
said that Allah has ordered wazoo one one time (to wash) but the Prophet SW has
made it two times for the people. The Prophet SW said this in rejection of it
and not in the sense of information. Perhaps you are saying that Is it possible
that Allah has odered its limits and
the Prophet does not abide it
and goes beyond ? When Allah has said
Waman yatAAd HududAllah fakad zalam nafso ( 65:1 ...and any who transgresses
the limits of Allah, does verily oppress his (own) soul:..)
2.
Imam Jaffer Sadiq AS said that whoever
do wazoo two times will not be rewarded for it.
3. Imam
Jaffer Sadiq AS said whoever transgresses the limits of Wazoo, verily he will
break his Wazoo.
